As previously reported last month, Goldberg may not be with WWE after WrestleMania. He is currently making around $1.5 million for a year with his current contract, and either WWE may not re-sign him, or he may not re-sign at this time.
As mentioned before, Goldberg's WWE contract expires shortly after WrestleMania and renewal talks have not yet started. Goldberg has expressed interest in returning for another year or two, but he is reporteldy afraid of being "taken advantage of" with a new contract. He made a downside of $1.5 million this year.
As of right now, it is definitely not a given that Goldberg will re-sign and WWE has actually booked post-WrestleMania plans without Goldberg in the picture, possibly assuming that he will not be willing to take a pay cut to return. There has also been concern that Goldberg may not be willing to deal with another full-time schedule and may want to only return part-time, something WWE does not want.
There are even rumors now that Goldberg may be out of action for a while after WrestleMania after his contract expires, until a new deal is signed... or not signed.
Word is now that the general feeling is that Goldberg will NOT be around after WrestleMania. According to Dave Scherer, if you are a betting man, you should bet against him being back.
