WWE management has told WWE wrestlers to basically respect the authority of referees during matches. Referees have never really been taken seriously, but wrestlers are now being asked to listen to them more often, as well as take some direction from them.

Also, WWE wrestlers have been asked to "slow down in the ring and make spots mean more". They have been asking wrestlers to do this for a while now, and the style is finally being implemented after the Raw and Smackdown meetings over the past couple of weeks.
