Alfonso Castillo sent in the following report:
-- Lillian came into the ring to sing the National Anthem. Afterwards she started to make the usual pre-show announcements when the arena suddenly went dark and the eerie goth music started playing. About a half dozen "druids" in the black cloaks carried the casket into the ring. I was seated where I could see the back of the Titan Tron and it took several stagehands to lift that thing onto the ramp.
-- After Raw went to the first commercial break, Kane hung out for a while with the ring still moving around.
-- While Ross was waiting in the ring during commercials to interview Chris Benoit, he took several audience "polls" on WrestleMania matches. Fans cheered loudest for Michaels to win the Triple Threat Match and for Goldberg to win his match with Brock. Ross also asked "How many people think Steve Austin will kick both their asses?" and the fans popped big.
-- During one break, they showed the trailer for "Walking Tall," which got a pretty good pop from the fans.
-- After the show went off the air, Mick Foley challenged the Evolution to come back to the ring and said he'd wait six days if he had to. Usually at Raw tapings, the heels come back out and get beat up by the babyfaces to send the fans home happy. But, while Foley was calling them out, a referee came from the back and whispered to the Rock, apparently, that they weren't going to come out. Rock took the mic, and mumbled to himself "Shit!" He then tried to do damage control and said something along the lines of, "I don't know about you, Mick, but that's the worst ass kicking I've gotten in a long time." Then he said while he knew that Foley had said they'd wait all week for them to come back out, what he was really interested in doing was talking about pie some more. So they just started to kill time and try to come up with something entertaining.
-- Rock said to Mick, "Now that the cameras are off and we're off live TV, tell me Mick, did you really hit Miss Schneider?" Foley hesitated and then kind of shamefully said, "Once." Rock freaked and asked if it was "in the backdoor." And Foley denied it. They went back and forth talking about pie some more, then Rock told Foley that he was proud of him because he should get pie any time he gets the chance, regardless of who its from and the crowd popped (I'm not making this up).
-- Rock told everyone to drive safely, especially "the drunks." Foley commented that he lived just 15 miles away across the Long Island Sound, which the Arena is right next to, and would be taking a ferry home. Then Rock wen tot wrap it up with the "If You Smell.." deal, when Foley jumped in with his own "smellalalalala…" Rock stopped him at first and then gave him the mic and told him to finish. So Foley continued the "lalala" and Rock interrupted again to say he had the ugliest tongue he had ever seen, and that he knew where that tongue had been. Then, finally, Rock took the mic and gave the "If you smell what the Rock and Sock is cooking" and the two left the building.
-- Not as entertaining, nor as lengthy, as the usual Steve Austin post-Raw comedy routine, but at least they tried to give the live fans something special...
