Backstage Incident Occurs At This Week's SmackDown! Taping

There was an incident at the SmackDown taping this past Tuesday night involving the actions of Bruce Prichard (a lead member of the brand's writing team). Apparently Prichard was complaining very loud about how many times that he had to rewrite the show. Prichard actually surprised his peers backstage when he complained heavily to Vince McMahon about John Laurniatis taking the changes to McMahon on show day, instead of Sunday when he first reviewed the script.

The flip side of the story is that Laurinaitis suggested the changes based on what Vince McMahon had told him to make during the agent meeting. Despite the writing staff referring to Laurinaitis behind his back as "Johnny change-a-lot" in a joking manner, apparently Laurinaitis was completely in the right as the changes that he made were good ones and Prichard was making far too big of an issue out of it. It is a secret to no one that the show has to be re-written several times on the day of the show each week and that Prichard was turning it into more of a political issue.
