Thanks to Brian Washington for sending in the following:
Just thought you would be interested in hearing that Rob Van Dam made one of his periodic appearances on the McDonnell/Douglas radio show in California this afternoon.
He called in to promote the appearance of WWE Diva Stacy Keibler at his Five Star Comics store in Lakewood.
He had some pretty interesting comments about how he felt that it was good that he was on Smackdown due to the fact that it was a different locker room and the fact that the roster was filled with a lot of younger workers. He felt that by going to Smackdown it would give him a better chance to get to the top tier.
He also put over the European fans, especially the Italians. He said that on the recent European tour that the fans in Milan popped really hard due to the fact that it had been over fifteen years since they saw a WWE show.
Also, his interview was interesting by what he didn't say. When Joe McDonnell questioned him about the recent controversy concerning John Bradshaw Layfield and his Heil Hitler salute, Van Dam refused to comment on it. I wonder if he didn't want to say anything because he was pressured not to by management.
Anyway, RVD came off in his usual casual manner and it was a pretty good interview.
