The following was derived from WWE.com

WWE SmackDown - July 1, 2004

Venue : Crown Coliseum

City, State : Fayetteville, North Carolina

Preview :
The fallout from The Great American Bash occurs this Thursday night at 8/7 CT when UPN presents SmackDown!

We have a new WWE Champion, as John Bradshaw Layfield was named the winner of Sunday's Texas Bull Rope Match under the most controversial of circumstances. What will General Manager Kurt Angle - who ordered JBL the winner - have to say this week? What will JBL and the now former champion, Eddie Guerrero, have to say?

Also, the Undertaker did the unthinkable - pouring concrete onto his longtime manager Paul Bearer after saying he had "no choice." What did he mean? Perhaps we'll find out this Thursday night on UPN.

John Cena retained the U.S. Championship at The Great American Bash, but his three opponents - Rob Van Dam, Booker T and Rene Dupree - all want rematches. This week on SmackDown!, those three Superstars will battle in a Triple Threat Match to become the No. 1 contender for the U.S. Championship.

Plus, Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio goes one on one with Mordecai!

All this and much more this Thursday night (8/7 CT) when UPN presents SmackDown!
