Vince McMahon wasn't at the SmackDown tapings tonight for the same reasons as yesterday. Vince McMahon was said to be calling in with several changes to the tapings, which led the production meetings to be delayed for a couple of hours. Reports indicate that the atmosphere backstage was the same as RAW's, out of hand and crazy.
Stephanie McMahon, Brian Gerwitz and Triple H, yes Triple H, were helping with the show. Many people within the company feel that it might be how the future of the WWE is heading. Tells you how much power Triple H actually has. This wasn't the first time where Triple H helped run a WWE show. This past June, he skipped a house show to help run The Great American Bash PPV. There was a joke between some of the wrestlers backstage that Triple H was getting ready for the day he takes over the company, once Vince steps down.
SmackDown's head writer, David Lagana, was on vacation. Paul Heyman was basically his replacement tonight and was a huge help in putting together the show. For those of you wondering, Shane McMahon wasn't there.
