*The following rumors come from WrestlingObserver.com:
- According to sources within WWE, the plan for early next year is to have the SmackDown! title on a heel champion. Although it is not confirmed that JBL will win at Armageddon, if WWE does not change its plans, he, or another heel, will definitely regain the title by Royal Rumble.
- Due to past matches that were less-than-stellar, most backstage are hoping the Jesus versus John Cena match is kept short. The concern about workrate is not limited to this match, however, as the feeling is that, on paper, nothing on the show looks like it will be even close to a match of the year candidate. Even though SmackDown! has a history of exceeding expectations when it comes to PPVs, the lack of in-ring depth for Armageddon cannot be denied.
- At least one WWE official told Mike "The Miz" Mizanin that all he needs to do in his boxing match with Puder is last through the first round and he will win votes based on "courage" and "effort." It is highly unlikely that Mizanin will win the fight, so the goal for Mizanin is to "look good" losing. It is not known if Mizanin will be able to draw enough sympathy votes to win the competition, but if he is able to last through the fight without getting totally destroyed, it will almost be as if he "won" the match.
