Spike TV Officially Ends Talks With WWE; Jarrett Talks With Spike?

WWE officially will not be on Spike TV next year as Spike has ended their talks with WWE due to McMahon asking for too much money. In a statement released by Spike TV, they said, "After several months of negotiations, we have decided to end our discussions about extending our relationship with the WWE beyond September 2005. Moving forward, Spike TV will expand its investments in original programming and new acquisitions for its core audience." Reports are that WWE was asking Spike for a fee of around $40 million a year to be able to air WWE programming, which is about 40% higher than what they were paying them the last five years. Also keep in mind that WWE's ratings are way down since last time. GOOD JOB GUYS. Anyway, as of now, it's pretty much expected by everyone that WWE will be back on the USA network soon.

Just FYI, apparently FX, TNT, and TBS have all turned down offers to air WWE programming. HA.

Also, there are rumors that Jeff Jarrett has been speaking to Spike TV in an attempt to get NWA to take WWE's place on the network. Worth a shot, eh.
