WWE.com is reporting that former WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero was found dead in his hotel room in Minneapolis this morning. Eddie was in Minneapolis for tonight's "Super Show," where both RAW and SmackDown were to be taped. Eddie was scheduled to participate in a triple-threat match for the World Title at the SmackDown taping.

The Guerrero name is one of the most famous in professional wrestling history, particularly in the U.S. Southwest and Mexico. A second-generation star, Eddie was the first wrestler of Mexican descent to win an American World Title when he defeated Brock Lesnar in February of last year. His nephew, Chavito Salvador Guerrero III (currently working as Kerwin White), remains employed by WWE.

Eddie (real name Eduardo Gori Guerrero Llanes) was 38. Details are sketchy at this point, but as soon as more information becomes available, we'll post it here. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and their two daughters.

Rest in peace, Eddie. Heaven just got a new main-eventer.
