TNA's planned live show dropped

Plans for a live TNA special on Spike TV for Monday, February 13 are now off.

Spike TV reportedly made the decision to not move forward with plans a week ago for TNA to present a special live episode of iMPACT! the day after the Against All Odds PPV and the same night in which WWE Monday Night RAW would be preempted due to the Westminster Dog Show on the USA Network. TNA was said to be willing to produce the special as they saw a huge opportunity with WWE programming not taking place that night.

For now, it looks like February 13 will simply feature the replay of iMPACT! from two days earlier on February 12 as it does every Monday night at Midnight ET/11pm CT. According to a strong source at Spike TV, the networks decision to not produce the special was largely due to "logistical reason" and that any future TNA specials (either live or taped) are still being discussed for 2006. It is possible that Spike feels TNA isn't ready to produce a strong edition of iMPACT! live, which was why earlier talk pointed to them doing a taped show. Given the small gap between the PPV 24 hours earlier, Spike may have felt it was better to hold off plans for now.

WTF? That would have been a great oppurtunity for them to at least see the audience they would have pulled in.
