Chris Jericho might not be in talks with the MTV/Big Vision Entertainment startup wrestling promotion, but according to PWTorch.com, a major wrestling "free agent" was contacted about appearing.
Additionally, several well-known bands have been contacted about providing music for the thirty minute MTV wrestling pilot (20-23 minutes of actual footage will be shown due to commercial breaks), which will fuse in-ring wrestling with MTV's signature music and reality interview elements to produce a wrestling experience not replicated by WWE and TNA.
From all indications, the company, which was envisioned by Big Vision Entertainment and partially funded by MTV, will attempt to be a wrestling TV show and not a full-fledged promotion. But, if it does take off, it could provide another way for independent talent to make money showcasing their skills to a larger-than-usual audience.
As reported, Vampiro, PJ Polaco, Sean Waltman, New Jack, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal and Teddy Hart will be the stars featured on the pilot episode. Further episodes have not yet been ordered, as is standard in the television industry.
