Although Monty Brown does have an NWA title shot coming up, PWTorch.com reports that the wrestler is expected to ultimately be held down from a topline TNA run due to his in-ring skills progressing at a less-than-desirable rate.
Because Brown makes respectable money heading his personal training business, he has little financial motivation to accept indy bookings and work a full-time pro wrestling schedule.
However, wrestlers within the company feel that he should go out of his way to take the bookings as a way to step up his in-ring game.
By generally limiting himself to the TNA dates, many of which feature Brown in squash matches, he has little opportunity to mature as an in-ring performer, wrestlers say.
