The June 20, 2006 edition of CFZ Radio (Combat Fighter Zone) from radio.mmanews.com is now online!
On this week's show, hosts Luis Cruz and Seth Petruzelli (of The Ultimate Fighter 2) started off the show with their usual back and forth banter.
This week's first guest was none other than the famous UFC referee dating back to UFC 2 in the early 90s straight through present-day UFC, "Big" John McCarthy. The man who coined the phrase, "are you ready? are you ready? let's get it on!" joined the show to discuss his career in the UFC as a referee. There was so many interesting and informative things in this interview that we won't bother trying to list them here. Definitely a great interview with a great personality. Well worth checking out the archive of the show for this interview alone.
But that's not all! Our second guest was the winner in the Heavyweight division of season two of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV - Rashad Evans. Rashad joined Luis and former housemate from TUF 2 Seth Petruzelli to discuss his upcoming fight on June 28 against season one runner up Stephan Bonnar at Ultimate Fight Night. He talked about his training, expectations in the fight, and much more. In addition to that, Rashad and Seth shared some funny stories from Ultimate Fighter 2 that never made air. If that wasn't enough, Rashad gave his predictions on the upcoming Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz II fight scheduled for UFC 61 on July 8, and ran down his thoughts on the cast of The Ultimate Fighter season three, which wraps up this weekend with the live finale' on Spike TV.
From there, Matt Boone of MMANews.com joined the show to run down the upcoming June 28 Ultimate Fight Night card featuring one of the best line-ups in the shows short history. Matt joined Luis and Seth and the trio ran down all their thoughts on the card, and much more.
