Here are some notes from yesterday's ECW on Sci-Fi taping which I
attended.
Before the show an unrecognizable Joel Gertner (he is now very slim) was passing out flyers promoting the upcoming MXW show.
The show began at 9 pm with a series of dark matches
1. Rene Dupree VS Balls Mahoney
Dupree reminded me of Rick The Model Martel. Before Balls came out Dupree cut a promo about how happy he was to be back in the ring but how upset that he had to wrestle in NY. Back and forth match. Balls wins with his finisher. After the match Balls was holding his mouth. It looked like he may have lost a tooth.
2. FBI VS London/Kendrick
Great match. Guido sported bandages on his elbow and ribs selling the previous weeks beat down. Kendrick played a great heel taunting the NY crowd. Mamaluke botched a spot which cause Kendrick to get a bloody nose. The end came when Kendrick hit his slice bread #2 finisher on Guido and London jumping off Kendrick's into a shooting star press for the pin. After the match they all exchange handshakes and hugs as a sign of respect.
3.Roadkill VS Steven Richards
Both men got a good reaction from the crowd. Crowd lost interest in this one fast. Richards wins with a "Lung Blower" like maneuver (think Carlito's finisher but to the chest)
4. CW Anderson VS The Reject Shannon Moore
Anderson received a great reception. Shannon Moore got booed out the building. The crowd was not behind him at all. The end comes Moore botched Anderson's spinebuster by jumping over Anderson. . .Anderson beats Moore with ended looking like a sloppy back drop. Anderson was visibly upset. After the match Moore cuts a promo on how he doesn't care if people boo him because he is not going to sacrifice his body for anyone. He said all he will prove is to himself that he is the greatest cruiserweight in the world.
Overall the show was ok. CM Punk's debut was worth it to me. Hopefully WWE won't kill his push.
