There is still no official word on the status of King Booker's relationship with WWE. Unless it happened the week before he was suspended, Booker has not signed a new contract with the company. What that means if there will be a 90-day cycle where he will be able to do whatever that he wants.

Due to WWE owning the trademark to his King gimmick he would be unable to use it unless he worked in an independent promotion such as WWC that has a relationship with WWE. Therefore if Booker wants to work elsewhere he would have to do so under his old ring name of Booker T.

On the other hand his wife Sharmell will be able to continue to use her name because it is her real name.
