While the UFC continues to push for a TV deal in Japan, they haven't neglected negotiations elsewhere having successfully finalized a deal with Showtime of the United Abab Emirates. Showtime in the UAE, (no relation to Showtime in the U.S.) has added UFC to its lineup. The new deal includes rights for eight seasons of Ultimate Fighter, as well as UFC TV and PPV events. WWE is a big hit on the station and in its press release they say that the UFC complements its WWE shows.
UFC lightweight Din Thomas officially suffered a torn meniscus, stretched ACL, and a bruised femur and tibia in his defeat to Kenny Florian at UFC Fight Night 11 last week. The results were made available from the results of an MRI that Thomas underwent after the injury occurred. He will be traveling to Atlanta, Georgia next week to determine a timetable for his return.
UFC Fight Night 11 featuring Kenny Florian vs. Din Thomas will re-air tonight at 9:00pm on Spike TV.
Matt Hamill states on his website (www.matthamill.com) the UFC asked him to rematch Michael Bisping at UFC 78 in New Jersey but it was too soon to recover form his knee surgery. He is telling anyone who will listen including the UFC he wants to fight him at UFC 79 in Las Vegas on 12/29/07.
