WWE's latest video game offering is finally completed. WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008 will be released in the US on November 13th for PS3, XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii and PS2. The game has been reviewed by IGN writer Greg Miller and got a 7.5 ("Good") overall rating. Here is Greg's overall impression of the game: Here's the thing, this is some of the most fun I've had on the mat in a wrestling game in a long time and after three and a half months of playing it, I still look forward to putting it through the paces each morning. The controls are great and make the act of wrestling shine. However, I can't score this game as high as last year's PS2/360 title or pervious installments of the franchise. Single-player 24/7 Mode is a step backward for the series, the Create-A-Superstar and GM 24/7 are basically rehashes of last year's product, and the same complaints we've had for years -- awful AI, lame commentary, poor collision detection -- are still rampant. Plus, the lack of online voice chat saps some of the fun of multiplayer. Is WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2008 a fun game? Hell yeah, but it's the same fun you've been having for the better part of a decade.

  • I think that experience and natural instincts are the skills required to navigate thru unchartered waters such as King and I had to do when Candice Michelle was abruptly injured on Raw.

  • I would think that Randy Couture is going to fight a handful more times and look at getting into film work. I don't think Randy has any interest in the genre of pro wrestling.

  • Cena's pec tear was somewhat more serious then Edge's injury to the same body part but make no mistake they were both serious pieces of business.

  • Steve Austin's DVD release was delayed due to the DVD release of "The Condemned" which is doing awesome biz in DVD sales and rentals. It is a helluva DVD.

  • The Batista book is no doubt controversial and your recent email ripping it probably has helped sell a few more copies of it. Nonetheless I respect your opinions and views regarding the content of Batista's book which I am sure many will find eye opening to say the least but one can't dispute the fact that Batista told the truth when it would have been easy for him to simply not write or discuss certain aspects of his life. Mrs J.R. is reading Batista's book as we speak but I also plan on reading it soon.

  • I applaud Brock Lesnar for apparently negotiating a viable deal with the UFC and wish him well but it won't be easy for Brock as he will be a marked man to say the least. The guy who firsts K.O.'s Lesnar or makes him tap will have some serious bragging rights and will immediately increase that individual's marketability. Expectations for Lesnar will be high in MMA and it will be interesting to see how that matter is handled by Brock and the UFC.
