More Signs That Mauro Ranallo May Be Done With WWE (Updated)

As mentioned yesterday, Mauro Ranallo has removed any WWE references from his Twitter bio.

Today, PWInsider reached out to WWE for a statement on Mauro’s status and a spokesperson said this:

“Mauro Ranallo remains under contract with WWE until August 12, 2017.”

That could be taken as either a “nothing” statement or, based on everything that has been happening, it could mean “he’s signed with us until that date and after that date, he will no longer be signed with us.”

On Twitter, Mauro said that he hopes to be calling MMA again soon.

He also said that he will be returning to podcasting.

Update:

A new report by CBS Sports says that a “source close to the situation” told them that Mauro will not be back for the remainder of his WWE contract, which expires on August 12, 2017.

A source close to the situation told CBS Sports that Ranallo, 47, is not expected to appear on camera for the remainder of his WWE contract, which he signed on Dec. 15, 2015. WWE would not confirm this but did tell CBS Sports in a statement that Ranallo remains under contract with the company until Aug. 12, 2017.

Mauro has also been responding to countless fans, thanking them for their support, and has responded to some questions that seem to imply that his time in WWE is done.

In response to someone who asked, “Would you consider commentating wrestling for some other company or you don’t want to do that anymore?”

In response to: “Thank you for your time in WWE, the Cruiserweight classic tournament was my favourite work of yours, all the best.”
