Video: The Bloodline, 946

Tonight, we’ll look back at Roman Reigns joining his family’s side against the 946 on Raw last week.

Pre-Show Arrivals

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria are shown arriving separately. They’ll battle in a No Disqualification Match later tonight. Ethan Page is shown arriving, as is IYO SKY. Becky Lynch is shown walking in. Joe Tessitore says Stephanie Vaquer is medically unavailable.

In-Ring: Adam Pearce, Sami Zayn, Je’Von Evans

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is in the ring and welcomes us to Monday Night Raw. Part of his duties as General Manager is the responsibility to make the announcement when their broadcast has to change. Tonight is one of those nights because he was informed earlier this afternoon that Stephanie Vaquer is not medically cleared to compete. The crowd boos. Pearce says he’s more disappointed than they are. The other half of the No. 1 Contender’s Match for the Women’s World Championship is here. Therefore, Becky Lynch will go one-on-one against Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship!

Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn cuts Pearce off and walks down to the ring. Zayn says Pearce flew him to Fresno to take promotional photos for Crown Jewel. Zayn hears the whole show is changing, but he doesn’t see his name on the sheet. Zayn says he should have had Roman Reigns come onto the show, but Pearce can’t do that. An “OTC” chant picks up. Zayn says, “Guess what? OTC looked at the list of dates on his calendar and skipped Fresno.” Zayn says he wishes he was skipping Fresno, but he’s not. If Pearce doesn’t want to give him television time, Zayn is invoking his privilege as champion to take his time. Zayn respectfully asks Pearce to “get the hell out of my ring” because he has something he wants to get off his chest. Pearce reluctantly leaves.

The crowd chants, “Sami sucks.” Zayn acknowledges the chant and looks frustrated. Zayn says you could be a WrestleMania main eventer, a Grand Slam Champion, and the current WWE Champion, and still be the most underrated wrestler in the world. Maybe it’s Zayn’s fault. Zayn gave the fans too much credit. Zayn thought they could identify greatness when it stood in front of them, but they couldn’t. The crowd needs to be spoon-fed and told someone is great to get it. Trick Williams tells everyone how great he is all the time, and they chant, “Whoop that Trick.” A “Whoop that Trick” chant picks up. You have guys like CM Punk come out and tell them they’re the Best in the World, and the people believe it. Guys like Roman Reigns stand in the ring and demand to be acknowledged. They do it because that’s the only way they get it. Maybe Zayn should take a page out of that book. Zayn doesn’t like to brag, but maybe he should. Zayn has a lot to brag about, but he doesn’t. Zayn could brag all day about how no one in the history of the business has done more with less than him. No one has walked through miles of crap and come out clean except him. No one has been buried beneath the dirt and come out. Anyone else would have succumbed to the darkness, but Zayn dug deeper and deeper until he struck gold. Zayn could brag, but he doesn’t.

Zayn could brag that The Bloodline was never as good as it was until he came around. That’s a damn fact. When Zayn joined The Bloodline, it took the business to new heights and generated hundreds of millions of dollars in TV rights for the company. The fact that you’re watching this on Netflix is because of him. People thank Roman, but Zayn did it. Zayn could brag about that, but he doesn’t. Zayn says he could brag that he’s the most versatile wrestler of all time. No one puts all the pieces together as he does. Unless you’re Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, or Kurt Angle, you don’t belong in the same conversation as him. Maybe it’s time he brags. Maybe it’s time for the crowd to acknowledge him. The crowd boos.

The crowd chants, “OTC.” Zayn says Reigns isn’t coming. If Reigns were wrestling any other WWE Champion, he’d be giving his full, undivided attention. Instead, he’s dealing with the 946. Reigns acknowledges the threat he poses. The disrespect Zayn deals with from the other superstars and the crowd is crazy. Trick Williams, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Gunther… the way they talk about him. Now he has Penta in his grill. Before Money in the Bank, Je’Von Evans came out and interrupted him. Je’Von Evans! In what world does Je’Von Evans…

“YOUR BOY IS BOUNCY!”

Je’Von Evans cuts off the Undisputed WWE Champion! Evans’s shoulders are still taped up. Evans welcomes Zayn to Monday Night Raw. Evans asks Zayn to shut up. Every week, Zayn complains about why people are gunning for him, but he has the WWE Title. That’s why people are gunning for him. That’s not what Evans wants. He’s here because Zayn said his name. Evans gets in the ring and says he has his gear on, so Zayn can say what he wants to his face.

Zayn says he’ll say this as respectfully as he can, but he doesn’t owe Evans respect. Zayn will give it anyway because he’s a good guy… the last real one around here. There is no world in which Evans should ever be interrupting him. Not now, not ever. Evans asks if Zayn is trying to talk crazy, so he’ll do it. Zayn thinks he’s the man, but he’s just trying to be the best one here. Zayn says he is. Evans says he’s only the best because he has the title. Evans is going to talk disrespectfully. Zayn is trying to be one of the best ones here, but while Zayn is trying, Evans is trying to be THE best. Evans has advice for Zayn: stop talking before he gives Zayn and the WWE Universe something to talk about. Maybe Reigns was right because if they’re going to be real, Zayn doesn’t have to go to Crown Jewel with the title. Evans would love to go to Crown Jewel to face Roman Reigns.

Zayn says he’s disappointed in Evans. Zayn has always sung Evans’ praises because he reminds Zayn a lot of himself. Evans isn’t close to being in his orbit. Evans can come back in five to eight years. If he works hard and puts in the work, he can be half as good as Zayn. Until then, Evans doesn’t get to look him in the eye. Zayn storms off.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce returns to the stage and asks where Zayn is going. As the Undisputed WWE Champion, he deserves their time and respect. Pearce will give him a chance to earn some respect against “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans. The match is for the Undisputed WWE Championship! Even better, the match is next! Zayn is furious!
