Sports Illustrated is reporting that both WWE and GFW are in negotiations with Rey Mysterio Jr.
Mysterio, who is 42 years old, is currently signed with Lucha Underground, but his contract expires once season three is over, which is in September. He would then be able to wrestle elsewhere after a 90-day non-compete clause expires.
GFW would have a much easier schedule since they tape weeks of shows ahead of time, but Mysterio is also apparently trying to help his son Dominick get into pro wrestling, and Sports Illustrated says that he could benefit from that if Mysterio signs with WWE, potentially giving Dominick access to the WWE Performance Center and getting his foot in the door at WWE.
Mysterio was last on WWE TV in April 2014.
