Brooklyn to Host Next Year’s SummerSlam

WWE recently announced on their official website the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York will be hosting next year’s SummerSlam. This will make it the fourth year in a row SummerSlam will be held in Brooklyn following the six year run from 2009 to 2014 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.


2017 G1 Climax Tournament Bigger Financial Success than 2016’s G1

Website Fightful’s Brandon Howard reported this year’s G1 Climax tournament was a bigger financial success for New Japan Pro Wrestling than last year’s event.

In terms of attendance, this year’s tournament had a total attendance of 80,639 people which was 6,256 more people than last year’s tournament. In terms of the gate for the final night, this year’s show generated around $1.3 million while 2016’s and 2015’s final night averaged around $850,000 each.


WWE Did You Know – Failed Money in the Bank Cash-Ins

In a “WWE Did You Know” type fact, there have been three official failed Money in the Bank briefcase cash-ins in WWE history. Two of the official attempts ended by pinfall while the other ended in a victory but by disqualification.

The first being in 2012 where John Cena won his cash-in match by disqualification but CM Punk retained as WWE champion. The second being in 2013 where Damien Sandow was pinned in his cash-in match against World champion John Cena. The third being in 2017 where Baron Corbin was pinned in his cash-in match against WWE champion Jinder Mahal.
