Lars Sullivan, who seemingly “disappeared” in the midst of a monster push in NXT, returned to the ring at an NXT house show last night in Dade City, Florida. Sullivan defeated Babatunde Aiyegbusi in a squash.
Sullivan missed about a month, including the two most recent sets of NXT tapings, while he was being pushed for a rumored NXT Championship match against Andrade “Cien” Almas at TakeOver: New Orleans. Aleister Black will face Almas instead.
Sullivan has actually been out with a knee issue, according to Dave Meltzer. He previously had reconstructive surgery on the knee and has had some recent problems with it.
He is also dealing with a pituitary issue, according to Meltzer. Sullivan has acromegaly, which is a disorder where the pituitary gland produces too much growth hormone. It often leads to enlarged hands and feet, deepening of the voice, and certain facial features. Andre the Giant and the Great Khali had the same disorder.
