Status of Alberto El Patron and Eli Drake’s Contracts With Impact Wrestling

Both Alberto El Patron and Eli Drake’s contracts with Impact Wrestling are expiring soon, according to PWInsider.

Alberto El Patron’s contract expires during the month of April and both side are currently in negotiations for a possible new deal.

Eli Drake’s contract expires on May 31st, but there’s no word on if he’s currently in negotiations for a new deal.


NJPW Announces Dates and Locations for 2018’s Best of Super Juniors Tournament

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced the dates and locations for this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament. The tournament is scheduled to occur from May 18th to June 4th and is based on a round robin system for matches.

In regards to locations, the tournament was revealed to be kicking off with two events at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on May 18th and May 19th. Other cities hosting the tournament are Shizuoka, Shiga, Osaka, Aichi, Tochigi, Fukushima, Aomori and Gunma. The finals will occur in Tokyo on June 4th.

At the moment, no talent have been announced yet for this tournament.


Misc. Wrestling News & Notes

As previously reported, PWG recently moved their March 23rd show to a different venue due to a ticket sales error by PayPal causing more tickets to be sold than the crowd capacity of the American Legion Hall in Reseda, California. In an update to this situation, PWG recently announced that they will be releasing more tickets for sale due to the Globe Theater in Los Angeles having a larger crowd capacity.

WrestleCon announced due to overwhelming demand, Steve Austin has agreed to hold a second signing event on April 7th at their WrestleCon fan event. Tickets for this second signing event will go on sale starting on March 5th.

CHIKARA announced this year’s King of Trios tournament is scheduled to occur from August 31st to September 2nd in Easton, Pennsylvania. The first team announced for this tournament is Fred Rosser (Darren Young in WWE), P.J. Black, & Michael Tarver.
