We can confirm that WWE officials have contacted two-time WWE Women’s Champion and brief WWE Hardcore Champion Nora “Molly Holly” Greenwald about wrestling at the 25 Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXV. However, it is unknown at this time whether Greenwald has accepted the offer or not.
Sans a quick “match” against Jonny Fairplay at an indy show in October 2006 (the match consisted of Greenwald giving him a low-blow and pinning him), Greenwald has not wrestled since her departure from World Wrestling Entertainment nearly four years ago. During this time frame, she’s made several appearances as a special guest referee, but still has yet to actually wrestle again.
As noted earlier, WWE is planning on holding the 25 Divas Battle Royal at WrestleMania this year and have it feature Divas of the past and present. Former WWE Divas Tammy “Sunny” Sytch, Trish Stratus, and Jackie Gayda have also been contacted by WWE in the past few weeks.
