Rock Calls Cena ‘Laughable’, Major ROH Contracts Expiring?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has hit back at John Cena, describing the WWE’s World Heavyweight Champion’s perspective on him as “borderline laughable.” Johnson answered Cena’s criticism of him as only he can to SunSport. Johnson said: “John’s perspective is very interesting to me. It’s borderline laughable. But can I just say that I wish him the best of luck with his movie career and everything else he does.” The former WWE Champion also commented on missing WrestleMania XXV due to film commitments. “I don’t mind missing it – I was out promoting a movie,” Johnson said. However, he is very happy for “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and recognizes how special the annual WrestleMania and Hall of Fame events are. Johnson said: “I was very happy about Steve Austin being inducted into the Hall Of Fame. Steve and I are good friends. Last year I had the chance to induct my grandfather and my dad and it was a true honour. In that world of professional wrestling, WrestleMania is a very special time for the wrestlers and the Hall Of Fame is very special for the former wrestlers.”

Many ROH wrestlers, including Bryan Danielson, have their contracts up in May. Danielson has already told ROH that he does plan to continue to wrestle for the promotion but doesn’t want to sign a new contract. The reason for this is because he wants to be able to work overseas or take time off when he wants. Danielson did have a WWE tryout last year with ROH’s blessing but didn’t get signed. He also attended the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony as a guest of William Regal last weekend.
