According to a report from The New York Times’ Media Decoder, the WWE and USA Network have signed a new deal that will keep Monday Night Raw on the network through 2014.
Tonight’s edition of WWE Raw takes place at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Sqaure Garden in New York City. WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper will be the special guest host for tonight’s show. WWE originally reached out to Hulk Hogan to be the host, but Hogan opted to sign with TNA instead. NBC late night TV host Jimmy Fallon was WWE’s second choice, but he was unable to commit due to a scheduling conflict. Tonight’s Raw will feature a brand new opening video package and theme song – “Burn it to the Ground” by rock band Nickelback. WWE taped footage for the opening video package two weeks ago at the last live Raw.
