Developmental talent Brett DiBiase, brother of Ted DiBiase, will be going in for knee surgery next week and will be missing several months of action as we noted earlier. There had been plans for Ted DiBiase to lead a new group of second generation wrestlers, which would include his brother Bret as well as Joe Hennig, son of the late Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig. With Bret out of commission, there’s been talk of putting Carlito and Primo in the stable but that hasn’t been officially decided on.
With the fate of DiBiase’s new “privileged sons” group on hold, WWE still wants to bring Joe Hennig to the main roster and pair him with DiBiase. Hennig, a standout developmental talent, was originally scheduled for this season of NXT until officials decided not to have any second generation stars on this season.
