BACKSTAGE NOTES: Carwin looked like an absolute beast. Brock did too, but he always does. Tuchscherer looked bigger than both. Akiyama looked to be in tremendous shape as well.
Joe Rogan interviewed Shane Carwin, who thanked God and said that we were about to find out who the baddest man on the planet is. Brock got booed during his interview and said simply that he was looking forward to getting back in the Octagon, and was ready to fight.
Dana White called it the biggest fight in UFC history and spoke about Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos still to come. White and Rogan put over Carwin’s record and quick finishes. They moved on to the Akiyama-Leben fight, which Rogan said he was really excited about. Dana called the fight “a gunslingin’ bangfest.”
