As noted before, former WWE wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr. was charged in April of 2023 with several criminal charges by the United States Department of Justice over his involvement in embezzling welfare funds as part of a larger welfare scandal in the State of Mississippi.
WAPT reported that a jury in Mississippi found DiBiase Jr. not guilty on all thirteen counts against him. It was reported that the just had deliberated for four hours before making their official verdict.
DiBiase Jr. had been charged with one count of conspiracy, six counts of wire fraud, four counts of money laundering, and two counts of embezzlement. DiBiase Jr. had face the possibility of being sentences to more than 160 years in federal prison had he been convicted of the charges against him.
Following the trial, DiBiase Jr. spoke to the media about him being cleared of the charges against him.
“I believe they got it right. I’m just grateful that it’s over and I get to go home.
It’s just been so long that this cloud has lived over me.”
DiBiase Jr. then hugged his brother Brett DiBiase, who had previously pleaded guilty in the welfare scandal involving his family.
