TNA has been, to some, ‘crossing the line’ lately on the use of ECW in terms of promoting the upcoming HardCORE Justice Pay-Per-View. Among other things, they’ve used the letters of the WWE-copyrighted company on the air during recent iMPACT! episodes. Now, WWE lead attorney Jerry McDevitt has stated the company’s position on the topic.
Speaking to Newsday’s Alfonso Castillo regarding TNA’s promotion of the Hardcore Justice, McDevitt said, “WWE is the sole owner of the ECW marks, and as with all of WWE’s intellectual property it will be vigorously protected. TNA acts at its peril if it infringes upon WWE’s rights.”
