— Matt Hardy’s claim to be the “pioneer” of online fan interaction in wrestling is a little misguided. The first wrestler to interact with fans using the internet was actually Marc Mero, who posted on the AOL Grandstand Wrestling area in 1995. Brian Pillman was close behind and, in 1996, even got banned for violating terms of service a few times while doing his “loose cannon” gimmick.
