UFC 121 & WWE Bragging Rights Cross Promotion

WWE’s Bragging Rights and UFC 121 both take place this weekend, and Comcast, the leading cable company in the US, is cross-promoting both events to their customers in hopes of increasing buys.

The advertisement sent to subscribers was titled “2 Great Reasons To Stay Home”, which displays the UFC 121 poster with Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez and Raw’s John Cena and Randy Orton vs. SmackDown!’s The Undertaker and Big Show on the Bragging Rights poster.

It will not be easy for WWE to obtain sufficient PPV buys on a night after the UFC 121 PPV featuring a former PPV headliner from WWE. They will also be up against a high profile football game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers.

Ticket sales for Bragging Rights have been slow. The word is plenty of floor seats are still available.

UFC president Dana White likely love this or could care less while WWE’s Vince McMahon will completely hate it.

Also note that we will have FREE live coverage of both the UFC 121 (Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez) and WWE Bragging Rights (Team RAW vs. Team SmackDown!) pay-per-view events this weekend. It’s going to be a very busy weekend around here so be sure to check back in often!

UPDATED NOTE FROM RYAN CLARK: You guys should go out of your way to read the latest Jim Ross blog we posted below this report. He is 100% correct on the Michael Cole and wrestling fans being offended subjects. I couldn’t have said it better myself for the idiots out there who do nothing but bitch over and over. These people you see on television are obviously CHARACTERS who follow STORYLINE angles. Do you honestly think Jillian Hall, Santino, Goldust, Zach Ryder, Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, etc etc. act that way in real-life?! I think some people forget that sometimes. Also don’t forget that Cole and Lawler have numerous people in their ears on a weekly basis telling them what to say. Change the channel (or website!) if you’re not happy!
