Portuguese company J.F. Ramos filed a motion to dismiss the WWE’s lawsuit against them regarding the sale of alleged counterfeit merchandise to stores based in France. Ramos claimed that a lawsuit in France against WWE by Sun City, who bought the merchandise from Ramos and sued for damages after WWE claimed they were selling counterfeit merchandise, would provide WWE with any deserved damages should they win the case. France has a law where in a lawsuit, the losing party covers the victor’s losses and court costs. Thus, Ramos claims that only if WWE lost against Sun City would a lawsuit against Ramos need to be heard.
WWE has until March 28th to reply to the motion.
