There are conflicting reports on whether WWE will honor Randy Savage next week on television following his tragic passing Friday morning in Seminole, Florida.
According to one source, the production team was ordered to work on a video piece honoring the wrestling legend for inclusion on next week’s television programming.
Another source noted that the organization would pay tribute to him in some form at this Sunday’s Over the Limit pay-per-view event in Seattle, Washington. However, they now say that no tribute is planned for Savage, at least for Sunday. As of now, something is expected to air Monday on RAW.
Meanwhile, WWE.com posted a video dedicated to the wrestling legend’s memory, as well as several photos and clips highlighting his extravagant career. The video package is from WWE’s 2009 DVD release Randy Savage: Macho Madness.
Savage died Friday morning in Seminole, Florida after a head-on collision with a tree. Lanny Poffo, his brother, says the accident occurred after Savage suffered a heart attack while driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler. We’ve also learned that Randy was pronounced dead before his arrival to the hospital. He was 58 years old.
