Gregory Iron, a 25-year-old independent wrestler with cerebral palsy, has posted a video online petitioning for a spot in next year’s Royal Rumble.
Iron drew attention in July after CM Punk confronted him at an independent show in suburban Chicago. The WWE Superstar appeared in the ring to tell Iron, “You’re awesome! You overcome more than I ever have just waking up every morning. The fact that you became a pro wrestler, I’m only assuming it’s because it was something you wanted to do. You didn’t let anybody tell you that you couldn’t do it … I saw something special watching you in this ring.”
