As most of you saw, Chris Jericho hosted the “Highlight Reel” on RAW this week. After toying with the fans a bit, he simply said: “This Sunday, at the Royal Rumble, it will be the end of the world as you know it.” He then left the arena.
Cole and Lawler then announced that Jericho would be a participant in the Royal Rumble match on Sunday night.
For what it’s worth, the plan as of several weeks ago was for Chris Jericho to win the Royal Rumble and then go on to face CM Punk at WrestleMania 28. We’ll see if that is still the plan.
