— Tajiri is planning to launch a new wrestling promotion in Japan. Puroresu Spirit wrote on Facebook: “TAJIRI is set to make an announcement on the establishment of a new promotion soon. Two dates have been dropped for shows 4/26 @ Shinjuku & 5/24 @ Korakuen Hall. ‘Keep Wrestling Classic’ is being hinted at again for the base of TAJIRI’s new promotion.”
— WWE’s partnership with YouTube for WrestleMania Week live streaming (the pre-Wrestlemania press conference and the PPV pre-show) generated “more than 3.9 million views”. Mashable reports that WWE also had 110 worldwide trends over the course of the five hour event (pre-show and four-hour PPV), 610,000 mentions of #WrestleMania on Twitter, and a 30% increase in website traffic over last year’s event. (WWE also streamed the PPV pre-show on their website, which didn’t happen last year).
WWE’s senior VP of digital business Jason Hoch says they plan to build on the foundation established here and it’s “just the start” for the company.
