It appears that following the Chris Jericho incident in Brazil that most WWE talent ended up more shocked than upset by things.
While it did become a big deal online, backstage the talent didn’t feel it was anything that hadn’t been done before and were upset to see him suspended.
WWE management felt that while Jericho was being himself trying to get heat from the crowd, it broke local laws, and since that happened they felt that they had to take action.
