WWE has sent a letter threatening legal action to the managing editor of the Manchester Journal Inquirer for comparing the company to pornography. The company demanded a retraction from Chris Powell, who said that Linda McMahon has now funded Senate campaigns through the “business of violence, pornography, and general raunch.”
Powell replied that he never mentioned WWE by name in his column and pointed out that YouTube has an age restriction on the footage of Trish Stratus’s character being forced by Vince McMahon to act like a dog back in the Attitude Era. Powell says that he had received the letter and was dismissive of the threat. He asked WWE if they wanted the letter published and said, “I also asked if we could get the depositions done before the Republican primary (in August) because I wanted to meet Trish.”
