WWE is asking the Federal Elections Commission to throw out a complaint filed against the company. The complaint was filed by the Journal Inquirer, which accused the company of illegally benefiting Linda McMahon’s Senate campaign by threatening to file libel suits against the paper for editorials that claimed Linda became rich through the “pornography and violence business.”
WWE is claiming the complaint is “absurd” and “an abuse of process,” alleging that the Journal Inquirer “failed to provide a factual basis” for the claim.
