— The New York Times published a list of the top companies that received government incentive programs from 2010 through 2011. The list has WWE at #14 with $16.5 million, divided up over fifteen grants that were considered “corporate income tax credit, rebate or reduction.”
— It was announced during the CHIKARA iPPV yesterday that Philadelphia will hold a “National Pro Wrestling Holiday” show on February 2nd. The show will be a double header that is free of charge and includes talent and matches from CHIKARA, Ring of Honor, EVOLVE, Beyond Wrestling, CWF Mid Atlantic, Kaiju Big Battel, Resistance Pro, Wrestling is Fun, IWC, WSU, Wrestling is Heart, CTWE, NYWC, QWEST, Fighting Spirit Wrestling, SOR Class Wars, Wrestling is Awesome and AIW.
The two shows will take place over the day and are both free; the plan is to promote professional wrestling as a whole by presenting as many different, unique promotions as possible. The event will also be available in iPPV.
