Just to recap some TNA news …………. we reported the following over the weekend:
— As noted yesterday here on the website, it was announced on Saturday at the Lockdown Fanfest by TNA President Dixie Carter that the Slammiversary PPV would be taking place this year on 6/2 in Boston, Massachusetts. Tthe event will be taking place at the Agganis Arena on the Boston University campus.
— As noted earlier this morning here on the website, former TNA Knockout Shannon “Daffney” Spruill has settled her lawsuit against TNA out of court on Friday morning. The settlement came during a mediation session where a judge was set to make a ruling on an important aspect of the case over whether Spruill was an employee or an “independent contractor” as claimed by TNA. When a hearing was set, TNA’s team contacted Spruill about a settlement.
The lawsuit stemmed from Spruill suffering injuries in excess of $26,000 in medical costs at the TNA Bound for Glory PPV event in 2009. Terry Taylor, who is no longer with the company, claimed TNA would be covering the medical costs and never did. This led to her filing the suit and later getting released by the company.
Spruill issued a statement on Twitter that you can view below.
I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all the love and support over the past two (cont) http://tl.gd/l8u9s4
— As noted earlier this afternoon here on the website, Bobby Roode is in San Antonio and will be working the Lockdown pay-per-view tonight. According to sources, Roode worked out his contract issues with TNA in time to work the show tonight at the Alamodome. His contract reportedly expired and it was not immediately addressed by Bruce Prichard, who oversees talent contracts for TNA.
Roode will be defending the TNA Tag Team Championships with Austin Aries in a triple threat against the teams of Christopher Daniels and Kazarian and Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero.
