WWE has removed CM Punk from all of their event listings through SummerSlam. At this time, there is no clear plan as to when and how Punk would return to WWE storylines. Punk is using the time off to let his knees rest and heal following the WrestleMania bout against the Undertaker, but issues with WWE management and overall burnout from the grind of the road for so many years were said to be factors as well.
Punk has been keeping busy during his time off, attending numerous baseball games, three UFC events and the premiere of Iron Man 3. His real-life girlfriend and former WWE Diva Lita has been accompanying him to all those events.
