Luke Hawx defeated Stevie Richards to win the Extreme Rising title at last night’s ECWA event in Newark, Delaware. Both men had arrived in town for the Extreme Rising event in Philadelphia, which had been canceled, due to the former ECW arena not being able to hold the event due to building issues. Referee John Finnegan brokered the deal to bring the Extreme Rising title match to ECWA.
Extreme Rising promoter Steve O’Neill was standing outside the Arena all evening greeting fans that were not aware of the last minute cancellation. He explained the situation, and gave out free shirts, DVDs and posters. Blue Meanie, Matt Tremont and Robbie Illuminati (formerly Mireno) were also there to sign autographs and take photos with fans.
