John Cena appeared on UK channel Sky Sports News on Monday to promote Wrestlemania 30. He appeared live via satellite from New York in what turned out to be a fairly short interview.
Anchorwoman Kirsty Gallagher thanked Cena for joining her (to which Cena replied with the “You Can’t See Me” hand gesture), and asked what fans can expect from Wrestlemania 30. He said WWE fans already know what to expect, but new viewers should watch it because it combines the athleticism and suspense of the Superbowl with the pageantry of a Rolling Stones concert. He called it the zenith of sport and entertainment. When Gallagher asked him about what it means for the show to be the 30th anniversary, Cena touted that the two guys who put the first event on the map, Hulk Hogan and Mr T, would both be in New Orleans for the show.
She then moved it on to Bray Wyatt, and Cena said that unlike his past bouts, where his opponents were only concerned with proving themselves to be the best, Wyatt is only out to make a statement at his expense. He said while Wyatt is an unknown commodity for the most part, experience is on his side, and on April 6 he’ll do “just fine.”
Gallagher brought up Daniel Bryan, and asked what his chances are of making the main event. Cena didn’t like his chances, because it’s hard to “fight City hall,” represented in this case by Triple H. However, he said he wants Bryan to succeed. When asked about other highlights, Cena mentioned the Andre the Giant Battle Royal and Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar.
In closing, Gallagher asked if Cena would perform his signature move on the Sky Sports reporter who is coming out for the event, and Cena said should he get out of line, he’ll have his Attitude Adjusted. Cena also pimped out the upcoming UK tour scheduled for May, hoping the move forward from the usual April dates will mean he gets to enjoy some rare UK sunshine.
