According to sources, a number of past WWE Superstars were contacted about appearing in cameo-type roles for WrestleMania 30 on Sunday as we reported last week. Some of the names that were said to be contacted include: The Rock, Steve Austin, Jim Ross, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Roddy Piper.
The source says there is a decent chance that The Rock will appear on the show, but it’s unknown if he’ll be there live or appear in a pre-taped interview segment.
Concerning “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, he said in the past he wouldn’t go to New Orleans unless WWE had something for him and wouldn’t go to sit in the crowd at the Hall of Fame ceremony. WWE had also pitched ideas to Austin for the show, and based on reports on his being in New Orleans this weekend, many believe he has accepted one of them. We hope to have more on this shortly.
