— BleedingCool.com and The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Comic writer Alan Moore is encouraging fans to boycott The Rock’s Hercules movie. According to the sites, writer and scholar Steve Moore (no relation), who wrote the original Hercules comic series, says he didn’t want his name associated with the movie’s marketing. He was apparently upset with changes that were made while working with Radical Comics on the series. Steve Moore received no money for the comic being used for the movie and asked that his name not be attached to the movie. After his death, his name was being used to promote the movie.
