While the return of AJ Lee may cause some people to think CM Punk isn’t that far behind, that isn’t the case. The two were married last month. Not helping the rumors is the fact that WWE will be spotlighting Punk’s two Money in the Bank wins on the next WrestleMania Rewind. Punk’s contract is currently set to expire on July 17.
However, when several sources were asked if anything had changed with Punk’s status with WWE, one said “I’m not going there”, while the other said, “Nope.” AJ’s return has “no bearing at all” on the company’s relationship with Punk. WWE has had very little contact with him since February. Punk has also referred to himself as retired.
