WWE has released NXT talent Troy McLain (real name Alexander Jones) today. McLain, who was a former NCAA Division I athlete, was working a motivational speaker style gimmick, wearing a wireless mic during his entrances to the ring. He did appear on NXT TV before, but was never presented in a prominent role. He was signed to WWE developmental in 2013.
Also, WWE NXT Diva Kendall Sky (real name Kendra Smith) was released by the company today. She was signed back in 2013, and had a background in martial arts and stunt work. WWE never used her on NXT TV, but she did work some house shows as a babyface. Earlier this year she had broken her wrist, and had been out of action for a good part of the year.
